The governments of Laos and Cuba reaffirmed their harmony here in
defense of socialism, to commemorate the triumphs of their revolutionary
processes.
The Embassy of Cuba in Laos received parliamentary leaders and
other revolutionary organizations of the Indochinese nation,
which on December 2 celebrated 36 years of independence, reported
Prensa Latina .
The Cuban ambassador Waldo Reyes stressed the traditional ties
of friendship and cooperation, expressed in international forums in
which Vientiane has supported all the claims of the island.
Somphanh Phengkhammy, vice president of the National Assembly of Laos, leading
the parliamentary group, expressed congratulations on the upcoming
53rd anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.
The President of the National Construction Front of Laos, Phanduangchit
Vongsa, also attended and wished success to Cuba in
the socio-economic challenges in store for 2012.
