Built in 1958 north of the provincial capital city, the plant has received the benefits of a strong investment, said its manager, Jaime Gonzalez Escoda, which will allow better utilization of mill capacity and ensure a higher quality of rice classification .

The change included the installation of hulling machines, cone grain polishers, cleaning screens, conveyors and laboratory, with which the mill can to process about 360 tons per day in three shifts.

Considered one of the largest in Cuba, the entry into the Camaguey industry operations will be a decisive factor in the efforts of the Ruta Invasora Agroindustrial Complex to expand rice cultivation to other areas of the province, concentrated, until recently, in its southern fringe.

In fact, in response to the growing number of producers that exist in the northern part a smaller mill was incorporated into the municipality of Esmeralda, on May 17, with which makes four such facilities in the territory for grain processing.

INDUSTRIAL CAPACITY INCREASES IN CIENFUEGOS

AGUADA DE PASAJEROS, Cienfuegos .- The construction of a 55 tons per hour rice dryer in 2012 will strengthen the province’s industrial capacity, insufficient to meet grain production increases in Cienfuegos.

Orlando Diaz reported Valdés, head of the rice program in the province, said the dryer will have two storage silos with a capacity 1,000 tons.

To this is added the installation of a new 5 tons per hour mill in La Paquita (Aguada de Pasajeros) to increase between them drying-milled daily capacity, so the industrial capacity and quality of finished production can rise markedly, he added the manager.

The new facilities were added to the mill with a production capacity of 0, 9 tons per hour, put into operation in La Paquita since July this year. (Julio Martinez Molina)
